洋基明年有多想要一座冠軍，就看洋基有多想要田中將大。

爭取田中的戰爭已鳴槍起跑，今天傳出，田中這方開出年薪至少1700萬美元以上，這與外界預估田中的未來合約應會值至少6年1億美元的基準相去不遠。

由於各隊只需支付2千萬美元就能擁有談判權，田中的身分更接近一般自由球員，田中幾乎肯定會以日職菜鳥史上最高薪轉戰美職，球隊也願意開出更好的條件爭取田中。

不過就如有美國媒體形容，這是一場前所未有的搶人激戰，田中的身價將落在那個價位，最終搶人成功的球隊會開到什麼價碼，十分令人好奇。如果競爭球隊多，價碼不斷飆升的可能性就更高。
