美失UNESCO投票權　表遺憾但將付會費

【國際中心／綜合外電報導】美國國務院8日表示，美方對喪失聯合國教科文組織（UNESCO）大會的投票權感到遺憾，但總統歐巴馬已請求國會准許美國支付教科文組織會費。
 
第37屆聯合國教科文組織大會目前正在法國巴黎舉行，由於連續2年未繳納會費，美國和以色列8日都喪失了在該組織的投票權。根據路透社的報導，美國拖欠的會費高達2.4億美元，由於美國的會費佔教科文組織總預算的22%，教科文組織的部分活動項目不得不中止。
 
UNESCO在2011年10月接納巴勒斯坦為成員國，當時引起美國和以色列不滿，美國便宣佈中止繳納會費。UNESCO成立於1946年，目前有195個會員，是聯合國在國際教育、科學和文化領域的專門機構。
