【綜合報導】美國德州一名13歲男學生，日前在足球比賽時，被球場上的火蟻咬了腿部，沒多久男孩失去意識，送醫急救5天後仍不治死亡。

13歲的埃斯皮諾沙(Cameron Espinosa)平常熱愛足球，上周三(11日)在一場比賽中，他突然覺得腿上刺痛，一看發現是一隻螞蟻在咬他，他連忙拿起礦泉水將螞蟻沖走，但沒多久他在場上就突然昏倒。送醫急救後始終沒有脫離險境，醫師表示，他的體質對紅火蟻的蟻酸過敏，經過5天搶救，仍在周一(16日)宣告不治。事後，他的隊員同學們在球場上找到至少20個蟻窩。
