感染弓漿蟲　老鼠不再懼怕貓

【綜合報導】貓咪身上的寄生蟲「弓漿蟲」(toxoplasma parasite)，對人類會有可怕的影響，可能造成孕婦流產，最新研究指出，感染弓漿蟲的老鼠可能不再怕貓。

這項由美國加州大學柏克萊分校研究生溫蒂殷格蘭(Wendy Ingram)所做的研究顯示，老鼠大腦因感染弓漿蟲，造成行為改變，研究人員研究老鼠對貓尿的反應，一般來說，貓咪藉由尿液劃定自己的勢力範圍，老鼠聞到貓尿的氣味後，會感到害怕而躲開，以免被捕殺。

實驗顯示，沒有感染弓漿蟲的老鼠很討厭貓尿，但感染過弓漿蟲的老鼠，則毫不在意地走過有貓尿的地方，即使消除老鼠腦中的弓漿蟲，但曾經感染的老鼠還是發生行為改變，不過殷格蘭表示這個結果，並不能直接導出感染弓漿蟲會造成老鼠永久的行為改變，她推測弓漿蟲可能是干擾了老鼠大腦中的嗅覺區域，讓老鼠無法聞到貓咪的氣味，所以不會引發害怕的感覺，另一個可能是弓漿蟲直接改變了老鼠的腦細胞，影響記憶和學習的能力。
