　　雖然任天堂才剛剛發表了攜帶型掌機「3DS」的廉價版「2DS」，過去也曾經歷過輝煌的掌機時代，但是根據 App Annie 與 IDC 所做的合作統計，其實隨著智慧型手機的蓬勃發展，在遊戲方面的使用率已經完全的超越現有的掌機。


掌上型主機的遊戲市場逐漸沒落中，這樣的畫面快變成回憶了


　　根據 App Annie 與 IDC 針對 2013 年第一季與第二季的合作統計，指出在 iOS 與 Android 兩大平台上的遊戲軟體使用率，明顯超越現行各家的掌上型電玩，其中以 iOS 上的市占率最高，並且使用率遠遠高於 Android 與現行掌機的使用率。

　　而 Android 平台的使用率，在 2013 年第二季正式超越掌機平台，智慧型手機兩大平台把傳統掌機打到第三名，推測原因可能是現今智慧型手機不管是在功能面或硬體面，其實已經不輸給掌機，因此逐漸取代玩家的使用習慣。
