針對馬蘇辯論，民進黨發言人王閔生今（27）日表示，公視已邀請雙方在明（28）日下午3時，進行辯論會前第一次協調會議，民進黨將由立委蔡其昌、政策會首席副執行長黃致達、文宣部副主任張力可，以及他本人一同前往。
王閔生表示，辯論的形式等細節內容，都將在協調會議上討論，屆時再對外界說明。
總統府副秘書長羅智強認為，辯論時間「晚不如早」，希望在立院開議前舉行。王閔生表示，立法院是民主國家最重要的機制，立法院審查也確實是重點，只要有讓民眾了解服貿協議內容的機會，民進黨都會好好把握。
王閔生說，辯論等於是多開一扇窗，讓社會大眾可以更清楚服貿協議的內容與影響，尤其立院還有16場公聽會，在16場公聽會外加辦一場辯論，等同「16+1」場。
他表示，這些公開對話與論辯，都有助於民眾更清楚服貿協議的內容，「包括受害產業是哪些？對台灣的經濟與社會影響有多大？以及應該如何補救？」
總統府希望蘇貞昌改變心意，開放媒體提問。王閔生表示，總統府上周六深夜對外宣稱，要讓公視舉辦且不開放媒體提問，對此民進黨予以尊重。
王閔生強調，民進黨希望促成辯論會成局，讓雙方好好就服貿協議做理性的討論，現在既然已有協調會，相關細節就在協調時提出討論，「如果繼續你一句我一句，人民並不感到興趣。」
