淡水河谷(06210)公佈第三季業績報告，公司期內錄得純利35.02億美元，按年大增1.14倍，每股盈利0.68美元。經調整EBITDA為59億美元，按季升18.7%，按年增37.4%。持續經營業務淨經營收入為123億美元，按年增長11%。

首三季方面，公司期內純利70.35億美元，按年下跌12.8%，每股盈利1.37美元。持續經營業務淨經營收入為336.42億元，按年下跌2.7%。

預期鐵礦石及球團裝貨量復甦至—8360萬噸（為淡水河谷歷史上最大）—以及其高價格，為2013 年第三季業績的主要動力。鐵礦石的現金成本—扣除礦區使用費後的礦山、廠房、鐵路及港口成本—由 2013 年第二季的每公噸 24.15 美元跌至 22.1美元。

公司正採取措施精簡組織、減少經營成本及費用以及投資成本並集中於產能增長。於2013年首九個月較 2012 年首九個月合共節省 20 億美元。2013年首九個月的經調整EBITDA合共為160億美元，按年計算高出8.8%，由於公司減省成本及開支而大大抵銷了基本由於低價導致的毛收入下跌8.82億美元所致。
