辣味嗆鼻 匯豐辣醬廠恐遭關閉

【大紀元2013年10月30日訊】「爾文岱爾」（Irwindale）市府認生產著名甜辣醬的「匯豐食品公司」告上法庭，稱市民難以忍受工廠發出的刺鼻氣味，希望洛杉磯高等法院下令工廠暫時停工。

「匯豐食品」是越南華僑陳德創辦的，專門生產泰國春武裡府出產的「是拉差香甜辣椒醬」。早在1980年代後期，他們在柔斯密開設了兩家工廠，今年才在「爾文岱爾」開了一家佔地65.5萬平方英尺的新工廠。每年9到12月，工廠會處理從各地收購的辣椒。

有鎮民向鎮公所申訴說，辣椒太辣，有人被辣得眼睛紅腫、有人喉嚨痛、有人頭痛，還有人被辣得躲到鎮外去。

根據法庭文件，匯豐一開始願意配合處理。但是上周突然表示，辣椒味不是讓鎮民不舒服的原因，因為廠裡的工人沒人抱怨過。談判破裂，市府告上法院。

市府請求法官下令工廠在提交消除味道的方案之前暫時停工。◇
