針對外電報導摩根大通與美國司法部已就引發金融風暴的房貸證券達成協議，賠償金額高達130億美元，對此，金管會主委曾銘宗20日指出，將盡速與摩根大通台灣分公司連繫，了解賠償細節，為台灣投資人爭取權益。

根據《華爾街日報》、《華盛頓郵報》等多家媒體報導，摩根大通與美國司法部已就房屋抵押證券一事達成協議，摩根大通將支付包括40億美元給美國聯邦住房金融局，以補償誤導房利美與房地美購買房貸證券導致的損失。同時，摩根大通允諾支付40億美元做為消費者求償之用；50億美元的銀行罰款；總額一共高達130億美元。

對此，曾銘宗則說，目前這個消息仍只是透過外電報導，相關細節仍有待進一步了解，金管會將會與摩根大通銀行台分公司連絡，弄清楚摩根大通與美國司法部協議的內容。

曾銘宗並強調，明日一早就會與證期局長吳裕群聯絡，商討因應對策，只要摩根大通賠償之事與台灣投資人相關，金管會將會採取因應措施，幫助投資人爭取權益。
