監察院長王建煊拋出「監院棄之有益」說法，引發朝野震撼，他更呼籲立法院應主動提出修憲案，檢討監察制度。立法院在野黨團紛紛響應，包括民進黨黨團、台聯黨團及親民黨都有表態將提案或重新檢討。

相較於在野黨的大動作，國民黨立院團則冷處理，再三強調，我國憲法制度本就是五權分立，監察院不是說廢就廢。

監察院長王建煊呼籲立法院應主動提出修憲案，檢討監察制度。立法院在野黨團紛紛響應，暨民進黨團、台聯黨團後，親民黨立委李桐豪也擬在周一召開記者會，全面性檢討憲制體制來探討監院存廢問題。
