楊永明 退選基隆市長

前國安會副秘書長楊永明今天宣布退出基隆市長選舉。他表示，近來政局變動，讓他對於台灣未來發展益感憂心。

他認為，此時此刻，台灣的對外關係與經濟發展更形重要，他身為國民黨員，體認國民黨內部團結更是關鍵，必須深刻思考如何將自己對國家社會的貢獻發揮到最大。因此，決定退出基隆市長選舉，願以專業能力繼續貢獻國家社會。

楊永明取得美國維吉尼亞大學國際法與國際組織博士後，返國擔任台大教職，努力於促進台灣的國際關係與研究。而後擔任新聞局長、國安會諮詢委員及副秘書長。
