為繁殖下一代　袋鼬做愛做到死

【施旖婕／綜合外電報導】澳洲昆士蘭大學的科學家研究指出，雄性袋鼬原來是天生做愛機器，會在死前兩周，與雌性袋鼬玩雜交，至死方休。

科學家指出，雄性袋鼬會在成熟精壯的時期不斷儲存精子，然後在交配季節盡情縱慾，與多隻雌性袋鼬交配，時間可長達14小時，而且過程相當暴力。但之後雄性袋鼬會虛脫，脫毛、內出血，並會生壞疽和潰瘍而死。

研究員費雪(Dr Diana Fisher)稱，雄性袋鼬集體縱慾是為繁殖下一代的生存策略，讓大部分的雌性袋鼬都能夠成功懷孕。
