【綜合報導】不少國家都以18歲為成年的標準，不過英國兒童心理學家發出新指引，將青春期上限由18歲推遲至25歲。

英國《每日郵報》報導，按新的指引，青春期可分為三個階段：前青春期(12至14歲)，中青春期(15至17歲)及後青春期(18歲以上)。

有關腦部發展的研究指出，大腦在二十多歲甚至三十歲時仍會繼續發展，荷爾蒙分泌在二十多歲仍有所增加，換言之，不少20歲「成年人」，仍會面臨青少年的心理問題，心理學家於是向上修訂青春期，更可充分照顧青少年在健康和教育方面的需要。
