搶救龍潭龍柏　陸軍司令部扳回一城

國防部廢除桃園空軍基地，將其劃入桃園航空城開發計畫中，引來許多軍事專家批評軍方屈就於地方權貴，放任國家安全不管。不過，陸軍司令部保住種植，價值百萬的龍柏樹，總算是扳回一城。

根據《聯合晚報》報導，40餘年前，桃園龍潭陸軍司令部在營區對面交通用地種植33顆價值百萬的龍柏樹。如今這些龍柏已成大樹，成為龍潭鄉為傲的路樹。但是卻因為鄰近周邊土地開發案、道路拓寬，而成為土地開發地主們的眼中釘，桃園縣工務局也想除之而後快。

不過，軍方與龍潭鄉會勘後，站在同一陣線，堅持留下這些大樹。最後，桃園縣府與地主讓一步，雙方同意明（2014）年前移植他處，陸軍保護辛苦種植的大樹成功。

民進黨立委薛凌也支持軍方的護樹行動，她稱讚有別於海軍高雄左營軍區大砍老樹的作風，陸軍護樹行動積極用心。
