行政院前院長謝長廷今天在義守大學發表「台灣未來的發展與契機」專題演講，倡導在地特色、跳躍發展、區域合作與不搞對抗等多項概念。

他表示，過去曾有國際學者問他，十年前的大陸與台灣誰比較強大，十年後的情勢又是如何。他回答，台灣意識只會越來越強，未來台灣也會持續成為華人社會影響力最大的國家。他說，國內現階段要做的，是審慎思考如何止跌回升、再創高峰。

謝長廷強調共生理念，認為台灣要遠離政治間惡鬥，利己也同時利他。他說，民主國家沒有只存在單一政黨，理念衝突但不應惡鬥。對於兩岸關係，他提倡憲法各自表述。
