| 新竹縣、市12點起停班停課

潭美颱風夾大強風大雨，原本新竹縣只有尖石、五峰鄉21日上午停止上班、上課。縣長邱鏡淳上午宣布，今天（21日）中午十二點起，全縣各鄉鎮「停班停課」。
新竹市長許明財也在上午宣布，全市「停班停課」。

| 南市開發冷卻背心供消防人員使用

在火場酷熱環境下，消防人員救災時易受火場幅射熱傷害，台南市消防局動腦筋想出冷卻背心，由業者開發，今天上午發表後，將分發全市800名消防人員每人一件降溫。
台南市消防局指出，冷卻背心可放置5小包冷卻劑，可保持約2小時降溫約12.8℃，讓救災人員穿身上後保持涼爽。
