（軍聞社記者李忠軒臺北二日電）國防部長嚴明今天出席立法院外交及國防委員會，說明國軍近期重大施政工作，期能獲得委員支持，使各項國防政策得以順利推動，提昇國軍戰力。
在厚實戰備整備方面，部長表示，因應「國防組織法修正」及「精粹案」推動，為提昇部隊執行聯合作戰任務能力，國軍依戰備規定，實施應變制變、反恐應援、災害整備及戰力整備等課目驗證，有效檢測各級部隊戰備整備工作，精進應變制變及危機應處效能。

新北市陳小姐機場申請晶片護照，因為外交部作業不及導致無法趕上航班，讓陳小姐不滿自己的待遇與副總統吳敦義差很多。對此外交部2日表示，AIT網頁上有關免簽授權許可作業就接近72小時，因此民眾勿嘗試在登機前臨時申請、趕辦美方授權，以免無法準時搭機。
