玩滑翔翼常會發生致命意外，英國30歲滑翔翼愛好者丹尼爾(Daniel)，日前要降落時被高壓電纜纏住，強大的上萬伏特電流過身體，幸而大難不死。

丹尼爾周日(5日)傍晚，如常在劍橋郡馬奇(March)滑滑翔翼，準備降落小型機場時，突然「見到眼前有電纜，之前一直都沒注意到」，避無可避撞上幾萬伏特電纜後，被高高吊掛在離地2公尺的樹上。

丹尼爾事後表示，清楚感覺到電流在他身上流過，當時他以為自己會被電死，但最後仍能慢慢解開繩索，被困10分鐘後終於跳回地面，只是手腳輕微燒傷；馬奇一帶約50戶居民一度停電逾兩小時。
