台北市議會交通委員會召開專案報告，北市交通局報告紅綠燈長度與密集度是否達成交通改善的檢討報告案，指出路口號誌周期240秒在尖峰時段共有51處，離峰時段則有11處，等於紅燈秒數超過183秒，交通局說，長秒數週期對紓解車流的效果較佳。

北市議員簡余晏批評，路口紅燈等候超過3分鐘就明顯是怠速，對交通根本沒有幫忙，像是基隆路口主幹道沒塞車，側邊的次幹道卻塞滿車，要求交通局研究訂定紅燈等候秒數上限。
