中國大陸駐舊金山總領事館一日遭縱火，美國國務院副發言人哈芙二日發表聲明表示美方嚴重關切此事，國務院外交安全局、聯邦調查局（ＦＢＩ）和當地警方已聯手展開調查，希望盡速逮捕肇事者。

ＦＢＩ發言人彼得‧李指出，這起火警是由「縱火裝置」引發。但他並未說明嫌犯使用的是哪種裝置，只說現場並未發現爆裂物的材料，也沒有爆炸的跡證。

這起縱火案發生在一日晚間九時卅分左右，根據館方監視器拍到的畫面，一名疑似亞裔男子從領事館前一部廂型車下車，提著兩桶汽油潑向領事館正門並點火，造成領事館大門嚴重毀損，所幸無人傷亡。

大陸駐舊金山總領事館二日發表譴責聲明，指縱火案是針對中國駐美領事機構的惡意破壞事件。

哈芙在聲明中提到，美方嚴重關切這起縱火事件，而國務院官員也與中共官員溝通，提供協助並說明調查進度。

大陸「環球時報」昨報導，稱大陸駐舊金山總領事館縱火案後發現，領館建築上留有「西藏人權」標誌，但無法確定是否和縱火案有關。
