台科大拓產學 設橡膠技研中心

（中央社記者陳至中台北2013年12月27日電）台灣科技大學拓展產學合作，和唯新工業公司合作設立橡膠技研中心，充實學生的實務訓練課程。

台科大材料科學與工程系教授邱顯堂表示，橡膠產業廣泛，包括汽車工業、高科技廠，甚至是食品業，都與橡膠製品有關。

然而，橡膠常被視為傳統產業，年輕人不願投入，訓練單位不足、專業人才短缺，廠商也較缺乏研發能量。亟需透過產學合作，協助產業升級，並培育橡膠配料及加工的專業人才。

台科大和唯新公司合作，未來將投入開發橡膠配方、收集分析國際橡膠產業資訊。業者也將提供實驗室，讓學生得以使用先進設備。

台科大校長廖慶榮表示，科技大學專精應用研究，成果一定要能被產業界所用，希望透過產學合作，協助業者解決問題，縮短學用落差。
