美眾院國會台灣連線主席卡特訪華

【陳培煌╱台北報導】外交部今發布新聞稿表示，美國聯邦眾議院「國會台灣連線」共同主席卡特（John Carter）在本月1日至5日與重要幕僚訪問中華民國，此行是卡特首度以共同主席身分訪華，旨在瞭解我國政經局勢、台美雙邊關係、兩岸關係、及我政府國土安全政策等議題。

外交部指出，卡特曾任眾議院共和黨黨團秘書長6年，現任眾議院撥款委員會「國土安全小組」主席，在美國國會深受敬重，是重要的意見領袖。卡特多年來在美國國會對我支持不遺餘力，積極助我推動包括以觀察員身分參與「國際民航組織」（ICAO）、台美洽簽「雙邊投資協定」（BIA）及參與「跨太平洋夥伴協定」（TPP）等各項議題。
