腎臟科醫師：應建立棉酚管理機制

農委會表示，動物可以分解棉籽粕中的棉酚。但林口長庚腎臟科醫師顏宗海表示，以食物鏈的角度來看，若動物吃了含棉酚的棉籽粕，人再吃下這些動物肉品，難保有害物質不會進到人體。建議主管機關對動物飼料加驗棉酚，吃了棉籽粕飼料的牛羊雞肉也可加強檢驗，保障消費者安全。

一名畜產專家私下表示，棉籽粕過去很少用在正規的動物飼料配方上。因為棉酚具生殖毒性，動物雖能分解棉酚，但動物吃過量，還是可能出現不能生育的問題，蛋雞吃過量不會產蛋，母豬吃多了也會有生不出來問題。

另一名動物營養專家則表示，飼料加入棉籽粕後，就算進到動物體內的棉酚會被動物分解。但只有反芻類動物 (如牛、羊)分解能力較佳，其他家畜如豬或是雞鴨等禽類的消化分解能力就差多了，仍可能有棉酚未完全分解殘留體內。
