怕胖抒發情緒　女性吸菸率增7%

【張雅淳／台北報導】新光醫院家醫科醫師胡念之今日表示，男性雖然是主要的吸菸人口，但最新資料顯示男性吸菸率持續下降，而女性卻不降反增7%，推測原因應與擔心戒菸變胖、抒發情緒、生長環境有關。
菸齡長達28年的李小姐，多年來一直想戒菸，但由於依賴吸菸抒發情緒，所以始終沒有成功，直到發現已成年的兒子竟然也開始吸菸，才下定決心至戒菸門診，透過藥物與信仰的支持終於戒菸成功，兒子也在她的鞭策下戒菸。
胡念之醫師表示，相較於男性吸菸多是同儕影響，女性吸菸和情緒較為相關，許多女性藉由吸菸抒壓，或是尋求一種陪伴的感覺；另外，許多吸菸男性的家庭中較少吸菸者，也就是全家只有一位男性吸菸，因此戒菸時較能獲得其他家庭成員支持，也較少吸菸的誘惑，但女性吸菸者則不然，多數女性吸菸者的家庭成員都有吸菸，所以當女性想戒菸時，獲得的支持較少，而吸菸的誘惑卻相當多。
另外，擔心變胖也是女性戒菸的一大阻力，根據國外研究顯示，女性較男性更害怕戒菸會變胖。
