谷歌（Google）今天以懷舊之旅歡慶15歲生日，同時宣布搜尋引擎更新。谷歌帶記者參訪公司的發跡處，也就是副總裁沃潔希奇（Susan Wojcicki）位在加州孟羅公園（Menlo Park）的車庫。共同創辦人佩吉（Larry Page）及布林（Sergey Brin）1998年就是在這個車庫內創立谷歌。

除了懷念舊時光，谷歌也大幅改變搜尋引擎的演算法，以因應使用者更長串、更複雜的搜尋內容。

搜尋部門資深副總裁辛格霍（Amit Singhal）今天告訴記者，公司約在1個月前推出最新的「蜂鳥」（Hummingbird）演算法，目前這套演算法裨益全球90%使用谷歌搜尋引擎的網友。

辛格霍在部落格發文表示：「還記得1998年的網路搜尋是怎樣的情況嗎？你坐下來打開你那台笨重的電腦，用數據機撥號連線，鍵入一些關鍵字，然後會得到10個含有關鍵字的藍色連結。」

他說：「在那之後，世界變了很多：數十億人湧入網路世界，網頁呈指數成長，時至今日，你只需透過口袋裡那台強大的小裝置，就能搜尋任何問題。」

他說：「你可以透過Google知識圖譜探索世界、以語音搜尋，甚至根本無需搜尋，Google即時資訊就會提供資訊給你。」（中央社舊金山電）
