私有股票交易平台SecondMarket 26日宣布，將成立全球首支比特幣(Bitcoin)信託基金。該基金將採開放式運作，並完全專注於投資買賣比特幣。

所謂比特幣為一種人造的網路虛擬貨幣，是由軟體經過複雜地計算程序產生，其過程一般稱為「採礦（Mining）」，任何人均可透過相關軟體運算自行製造、發行比特幣，目的在擺脫全球央行對貨幣流通的掌控。

比特幣基金的成立除了提供一種可靠、簡便的比特幣投資管道外，也同時象徵此虛擬貨幣向實體化又向前邁進一步。

目前儘管比特幣交易接受度逐漸提升，但由於流動性仍然受限，因此導致幣值波動劇烈。據紐約時報報導，今年四月，比特幣兌美元一度來到1比250，目前則回落至1比特幣兌135美元，全球流通在外的比特幣總值約15億美元。
