蘋果推出iPhone 5S與5C兩款新機的同時，推出新版作業系統iOS 7，19日開放全球用戶下載。而大量湧入的更新要求，使網路大塞車，有人花了好幾個小時才下載完成。

iOS 7提供新的視覺效果，包含AirDrop、iTune Radio等，當然更加強其他部分的功能，例如Siri的中文辨識能力大增。但並非所有蘋果用戶都能享受完整功能，例如iTunes Store裡的電視節目，只有澳洲、加拿大、法、德、英和美國才可使用；iTune Radio只有美國可使用。且有用戶抱怨，新系統需占據3.1GB的硬碟空間。

另外，Chrome、Facebook等APP也推出更新，例如使用Chrome時，點一下郵件連結或Google地圖時，將會自動開啟相關APP。
