近20年侵台颱風強度　天兔排第2

【張勵德／台北報導】強烈颱風天兔過去3天從輕颱三級跳成強颱，暴風圈範圍也越來越大。根據氣象局觀測資料顯示，判斷颱風強度的近中心最大風速，天兔為每秒55公尺，翻查過去颱風歷史資料，天兔的強度與多個強颱並列近20年來侵台颱風強度第2名，僅次於1994年的道格颱風！
 
根據氣象局過去歷史颱風資料顯示，與天兔的強度相同的颱風還有2005年海棠、1998年瑞伯、1997年艾文及1994年的弗雷特，而近20年來最強的颱風則是1994年道格颱風，當時觀測近中心最大風速達到每秒58公尺。上述颱風除了艾文颱風只有發布海上警報而沒有傳出災情外，其餘的強颱都曾重創台灣，民眾千萬不可輕忽。
 
至於1958年有颱風資料以來，歷史上最強的颱風則是1961年的強颱南施，資料顯示近中心最大風速曾達到每秒100公尺的驚人紀錄。另外1986年的佩姬颱風也測得每秒70公尺的近中心最大風速。
