薩默思放棄角逐　葉倫將成Fed首位女主席

【陳智偉／綜合外電報導】美國總統歐巴馬（Barack Obama）表示，薩默思（Lawrence Summers）已放棄角逐下屆聯邦準備理事會（Federal Reserve，Fed）主席，並獲得他首肯。
 
薩默思表示，擔心個人提名過程面臨阻力，使歐巴馬經濟政策失焦，「最終不利美國經濟持續復甦」，因此放棄角逐Fed主席。
 
薩默思退出後，使得原本呼聲次高，廣獲學界及市場支持的現任Fed副主席葉倫（Janet Yellen）接掌Fed機會大增，有可能成為Fed史上第1位女性主席。
