統一企業是一部大機器，長久以來培養出自己獨特的文化，總經理羅智先上任以來，積極的帶進新的管理風格，日前甚至整合集團資源要在美妝市場搶錢，發表會上，全部的走秀人員都是自家人，讓人驚豔這家傳統食品企業的改變，不過，羅智先並不滿足，他說，雖然在食品界統一算是很時髦了，但是，內部文化還不夠時尚，「希望在卸任前可以培養更多幹部敢跟別人不一樣，我覺得這樣就蠻成功了」。

羅智先指出，在開業務會議時，參加的人員領帶都只有灰色、藍色兩種，他是唯一的第三種顏色，從這裡可以看出統一的內部文化不夠時尚，以統一麥飯石礦泉水改包裝來看，只是從「大中至正換成清真寺」，好一點，但還是不夠時尚。

他進一步舉例，在日前集團發表美妝事業時，各事業部總經理包括統一藥品、康是美、統一阪急、統一夢時代等公司的總經理為了上場走秀，特地換上彩色的領帶，結果連他們的夫人都覺得不習慣。

羅智先表示，以食品業界來說統一已是最時髦的，可是「在統一，不太容易敢跟別人不太一樣」，所以最近在教育訓練時開始改變內容，從以往的企管經營等，開始加進文化、歷史、色彩等的課程，培養人員有不一樣的思維；他笑說，時尚界的人受不了統一所以不會進來，要找的話就要有一群人來，如果只是一個人來非死不可。
