氣候變化與海平面上升是如今國際社會熱議的話題，從1980年起，位於印度東邊西孟加拉三角洲的葛拉馬拉島便因此而失去了一半土地，導致三分之二的當地居民不得不舉家遷徙。攝影師Daesung Lee2011年的作品『神秘消失的葛拉馬拉海岸』，便展現了當地農夫與漁民站在殘存家園邊的畫面，向人們展示了環境破壞帶來的嚴重後果。

據人民網報導，這組運用超現實手法拍攝的圖片顯得飄渺，不那麼真實。但攝影師卻表示，他曾親眼見到那些土地被上升的潮汐侵蝕的痕跡，植物的根部暴露在空氣裡，日漸腐壞，大海將人們的賴以生存的土地慢慢吞噬，未來會怎樣無人知曉。根據政府的消息，印度將會放棄這塊領土，重新安排當地人的居住問題，但卻不會提供經濟援助。

這組照片參加了2013年的索尼國際攝影大賽。攝影師表示，他希望透過照片提醒發達國家的人們更加關注環境問題，以免終有一天人們親手毀掉這顆星球。同時也希望人們意識到現有的生活模式是在『一艘即將沉沒的輪船』中搜刮財富。而人們毫無節制的生活方式，正在摧毀世界另外一些角落裡人們的家園。『他們總有一天會被迫離開自己的家鄉，』攝影師還提到，『他們生長的地方即將永遠只留存在記憶之中。』
