食品製造業者濫用食品添加物，消費者若長期過量食用，恐損害肝、腎及食慾會變差，新北市政府衛生局針對市售米製品進行檢驗把關，在板橋南興路日新食品行發現一件「米苔目」，被檢出苯甲酸 1.22g/kg（標準：不得檢出），與規定不符，除要求業者立即下架回收，並依違反食品衛生管理法第18條處以3萬罰鍰。

衛生局表示，此次抽驗項目為防腐劑（己二烯酸、苯甲酸、去水醋酸）及二氧化硫。其中去水醋酸毒性較強，依法不得在食品中檢出；菜頭粿及年糕等米製品己二烯酸、苯甲酸每公斤若檢出超過1公克就違法。呼籲食品製造業者勿濫用食品添加物並應小心使用，同時也要重視製作的過程、環境衛生以及工作人員的衛生習慣。
