總統證實爭取親自參加APEC

馬英九總統14日在巴拉圭對國內媒體茶敘時證實，我們持續爭取讓他以「經濟體leader」的身分，出席APEC領袖會議。他強調，APEC當時設立成讓亞太地區經濟體的領袖參與，目的就是變成「形式上的非正式化」，以讓中華民國台灣能參加，他既然是經濟體的「leader」，為什麼不能參加？一定要派「leader的代表」？這些我們需要爭取、突破，但到目前為止，條件仍不夠。

媒體提問時，是鎖定馬總統是否可能親自出席今年即將召開的APEC峰會；不過外界更關切馬總統是否可能藉明年APEC年會在上海舉行的契機登陸。馬總統先前被問及此事時只表示，未來若要與中共最高領導人見面，「可能還要創造一些條件才行」。
