2013年第二季，意大利經濟連續第八季緊縮，但緊縮幅度低於預期，為意國逐漸走出衰退，提供了希望。

意大利統計局ISTAT說，意大利第二季國內生產毛額(GDP)較第一季下降0.2%，較去年同期下降2.0%。

分析師預估，意大利第二季GDP較第一季下降0.4%，年率為下降2.2%。

ISTAT說，經濟中各主要產業均見緊縮。

RBS公司分析師Albert Gallo說：「在西班牙與意大利，經濟有暫時復甦跡象，但距成長仍非常遙遠，距復甦亦遙遠。」

「政治情況尚未完全穩定。我們不預期政府會倒，但因國會意見分歧，要處理意大利極需的改革，將困難重重，」他說。
