氣象局在今(18)日早上8時30分指出，輕度颱風西馬隆目前中心位置在鵝鑾鼻的西南西方約210公里海面上。若此行徑無特殊變化，預計於11時30分解除颱風警報。

目前西馬隆以每小時19公里速度，向西北進行。根據最新資料顯示，颱風目前中心在鵝鑾鼻西南西方海面，向西北移動，暴風圈已進入台灣海峽南部，對巴士海峽、台灣海峽及東沙島海面構成威脅，巴士海峽、台灣海峽及東沙島海面航行及作業船隻應嚴加戒備。

另外，因颱風外圍環流影響，氣象局也發布豪雨特報指出，今日台東地區及恆春半島有局部豪雨或大豪雨，花蓮、宜蘭、南部地區及嘉義山區及澎湖、金門有局部大雨或豪雨，午後中部以北地區有局部大雨發生的機率，請注意瞬間大雨、雷擊、強陣風及溪水暴漲，低窪地區請慎防淹水。大豪雨地區：台東縣、屏東縣。台灣西南部及東南部沿岸（包含蘭嶼、綠島）、恆春半島及澎湖已有長浪出現，海邊活動請特別注意。

氣象局也說，若颱風行徑無特殊變化，預計於今日11時30分解除颱風警報。
