中國北方燒煤釀空污　民眾壽命估短5年半

【綜合報導】中國、以色列和美國共同研究，指出中國由於燒煤，導致空氣嚴重污染，估計在中國北方有5千萬人，平均壽命比南方居民縮短5年半。

研究人員在1981年到2000年間，抽查90個城市的懸浮粒子，發現北方城市每立方公分的縣浮粒子濃度，比南方城市高5成半，另一方面，南北兩地的死亡率差距擴大，就是由於北方居民罹患心臟病、中風等心肺疾病明顯增加。

研究人員表示，中國政府在50至80年代，向淮河以北的城市提供免費煤，供家庭及辦公室取暖。雖然這個政策在80年代後取消，但後遺症影響至今。研究員也相信，今次的研究結果將有助在其他國家判斷污染對壽命的影響。
