【大紀元2013年07月05日訊】星期二早上，列治文垃圾轉運站爆發大火，燃燒著的大火，足有半個足球場那麼大。
　　
Mitchell Island上一堆丟棄的建築垃圾失火，肆虐的熊熊烈焰，濃煙滾滾直衝天空，即使隔著菲沙河都清晰可見。
　　
Fairway Disposal垃圾站的Ryan Weller說，那是一堆建築垃圾，全都是建築原料，像甚麼木頭、屋頂，基本上建築工地上有的東西，絕大部分那裏都有。他認為火災釋放出的濃煙可能沒有毒，但補充說人們經常在垃圾裡面藏些東西，所以也可能會有些有毒物質。
　　
消防隊長Peter Price說，消防隊對此（濃煙）是無能為力，「人們總是擔心空氣中煙霧有毒」，「我們的消防員們做好了準備，我們盡量保持在上風處，並建議任何其他人要呆在上風處。」
　　
他說星期二上午8點時，消防隊已經撲滅了大部分明火，目前正在調查起火原因。◇
