台中市三民路「巴黎之星」大樓前一排機車，2日上午6時突然起火燃燒，早起住戶發現急忙滅火，但仍有17台機車被燒毀，初估財損逾50萬元，只是好端端的機車怎會起火燃燒？警方調閱監視器發現，起火前正好有一迎娶隊伍經過放鞭炮，懷疑是丟鞭炮不慎引燃。

| 山塔納零貢獻 大都會放手

〔自由時報記者吳清正／綜合報導〕大都會決定不執行山塔納（Johan Santana）明年2500萬美元（約台幣7.36億元）選擇權，以550萬美元（約台幣1.62億元）買斷合約，讓他成為自由球員。
35歲的山塔納曾贏得2004和06年塞揚獎，08年球季前和大都會簽下4年1.375億美元（約台幣40.5億元合約），當時創下大聯盟史上投手最大合約紀錄。
