今年全國運動會新設「田徑20公里競走」，新竹縣仁愛國中張力元、張瀚文兩兄弟，在男子組拿下金、銀牌，仁愛校友張珈鳳在女子組中奪冠，女子銀牌王羽妮也是竹縣籍，都寫下紀錄。
「仁愛國中『走』了8年。」教練陳志隆說，今年新增項目登場，竹縣走出雙金雙銀的好成績，整個過程中，地方向中華民國體育協會爭取多年，終於將20公里納入競賽項目，仁愛國中始終未放棄，持續培訓競走選手。
