衛報於8日公布美國情報局前雇員史諾登(Edward Snowden )的第二段訪問。史諾登指出，谷歌(Google)、臉書(Facebook)、蘋果(Apple)與微軟(Microsoft)等大型網路公司，均允許美國國家安全局(NSA)直接登入其系統，針對其客戶通訊內容、瀏覽數據與儲存資料等進行監控。
衛報8日公布史諾登在6月6日於香港接受的訪問。史諾登於訪問中指出，美國國家安全局並非只蒐集國外情報，所有透過美國傳輸的資訊也被監控。史諾登並表示，美國聯邦調查局與科技公司正進行監控國內通訊項目的合作，而稜鏡(PRISM)監控計劃讓政府得以透過大型公司完成其目標，如與社群媒體Google和Facebook的合作。
史諾登詳細說明，NSA在稜鏡項目中與Google、Facebook、Apple與Microsoft等網路大廠進行合作，並允許NSA直接進入其網路系統的終端，直接取得其用戶所有的通訊與儲存資料，NSA再進一步將資料儲存於雲端。由於這些網路公司並不直接進行監控，因此不必負任何法律責任。
