在釣魚台風波還未平息之時，日本打算掀起新一輪的炮火。據日本共同社消息，日本官房長官菅義偉在召開記者會，他對於有報導稱大陸海洋石油總公司等正在準備向大陸政府申請新開發東海七處油氣田一事再次表態。菅義偉表示正在向中方確認情況，「如果是大陸單方面開發，日方絕對不能容許」。
