針對蘇澳籍特宏興368號漁船失聯案，外交部上午表示，7月18日接獲通報後，立即協同海巡署及s農委會漁業署，合作營救。外交部電示駐吉里巴斯大使館、索羅門群島大使館、駐澳洲、紐西蘭、法國、美國、印尼等代表處及檀香山辦事處共14館處。

外交部說，今晨4時30分海巡署巡護七號艦在吉里巴斯鳳凰群島水域東南方攔截，登臨特宏興368號漁船，經清查船上計有9名印尼籍漁工，未發現陳姓船長與何姓輪機長。

外交部表示，特宏興368號漁船失聯後，靠近吉里巴斯及法屬玻里尼西亞海域，當地距台灣鵝鸞鼻東南東方5910浬，依100噸以下漁船的行進速度，約須航行30日，船隻朝印尼方向持續航行，經與相關國家協調後，法國、美國、澳洲與紐西蘭積極與我國保持聯繫，關注漁船動向。

民進黨主席蘇貞昌沒有事先通知媒體，上午南下台中探視洪仲丘家屬。幕僚表示，為表達對家屬尊重，沒有對外公布這項行程。蘇貞昌低調探視家屬後，還在台中拜會幾位地方人士，下午趕回台北參加「反黑箱協議，要生存權利」全民大會。
