狂犬病疫情再起，各獸醫院都力勸飼主幫寵物注射疫苗，但飼養貓咪的飼主憂心，貓咪對狂犬病疫苗易過敏，注射部位易產生惡性淋巴瘤，在防疫與寵物健康之間出現兩難。獸醫師建議，發生比率仍偏低，站在防疫角度，仍建議飼主施打。

| 詐欺水里鄉狂犬病疫苗嚴重不足

狂犬病延燒，疫苗不足急死疫區鄉鎮公所，臺灣省政府主席林政則30 日到南投縣水里鄉訪視時，獲知狂犬疫苗不足，立即指示省府民社衛環組向中央防疫單位反應外，呼籲全省民眾注意狂犬病「二不二要」原則：不碰觸野生動物、不棄養家中寵物、要為狗貓打疫苗、要為狗貓繫鍊條。

| 台東錢鼠 確認染狂犬病毒

台東錢鼠疑染狂犬病毒，基因序列比對完成出爐，確認檢出狂犬病毒。 這也是狂犬病疫情爆發後，第一起「跨物種」傳染的案件，之前都侷限鼬獾。
上周台東一位52歲的婦人在家中遭竄出的錢鼠咬傷，經農委會家衛所檢驗是狂犬病疑陽性，類狂犬病麗莎病毒第三型，農委會為確認該錢鼠到底有沒有感染Rabies狂犬病毒，日前委託基因公司進行基因序列檢驗。檢驗結果，農委會稍晚將召開記者會，對外公布。

| 錢鼠狂犬病毒和鼬獾相似度達91％

【綜合報導】家衛所所長蔡向榮表示，台東市錢鼠上周被檢出麗沙病毒，經基因定位，和台東、南投鼬獾狂犬病毒相似度達91%、92%，確認患狂犬病第一型病毒。
防檢局局長張淑賢表示，該錢鼠驗出麗沙病毒後，隨即通報台東縣縣長，隨即緊急釋出狂犬病疫苗供台東地區民眾寵物免費施打，同時錢鼠不若其他老鼠會爬牆，且屬食蟲目，非一般老鼠的齧齒目，喜歡吃廚餘，會藏匿在排水溝，民眾只要將廚餘加蓋，定期清理排水溝，並在門口放置捕鼠籠，可有效避免錢鼠傳染。
