| 楊念祖請辭國防部長

（軍聞社記者陳映竹臺北六日電）國防部今晚召開臨時記者會，部長楊念祖說明由他主編的「決戰時刻」專書，被某位學者指控其中一篇請友人代寫由他署名的文章，內容涉嫌抄襲，遂於晚間親赴總統府向院長與總統報告整個事件的來龍去脈，並向院長與總統表示，當此政府與國軍面臨重大挑戰時刻，由於他個人的過失而影響政府、國軍的榮譽，應負起責任，已向總統、院長請辭負責。
楊部長指出，對於個人錯誤表示鄭重道歉，也希望社會各界繼續支持國軍，因為國軍是國家安全最重要的支柱，也是人民最忠實與親近的朋友，國軍夜以繼日保衛國家與保護人民，這是永遠不變的原則與主要任務。
