| 紐約中華公所:就是支持中華民國

馬英九總統在美東時間12日下午拜訪位於紐約曼哈頓中國城的「紐約中華公所」，為親提的匾額揭匾，馬總統也是公所成立130年來第一位造訪的中華民國總統。相較於舊金山中華總會今年5月才發生撤下國旗事件，紐約公所外則高掛多面中華民國國旗，在馬總統造訪後，主席吳國基更肯定表示，傳統僑社「就是支持中華民國」。
馬總統贈送的匾額提字「亮藎華國」，「藎」字依教育部國語辭典解釋是「忠愛、忠誠」，但「亮藎華國」的意涵，媒體遍尋網路查不到。此一詞句語出自二十四史「南史」「梁書」，為「堅貞忠誠」之意；總統此匾被解讀意在肯定中華公所對中華民國屹立不搖的支持，頗有固僑之意。
