『時間膠囊』就是將現代發明創造的有代表性意義的物品裝入容器內，密封後深埋地下，並設置一個在未來能夠打開『時間膠囊』的時間。據英國《每日郵報》9月21日報導，由蘋果公司創始人史蒂芬·賈伯斯(Steve Jobs)三十年前埋入地下的時間膠囊日前終被發掘。因所有參與者都忘記了當初埋藏的地點，導致時間膠囊『重見天日』的時間整整推遲了十年。
