【吳家翔／台北報導】知名律師顧立雄願代表民進黨出征台北市長選戰，顧立雄今在記者會剖析個人的心境，他坦言，這當中有很大的掙扎，包括家裡的因素，還有律師事務所業務的考量，對他是很大的牽制，但真正能夠讓他下定決心的是，「人生到了55歲，應值得奮力一搏，不管成敗如何，總是不讓自己後悔，如果沒有嘗試，也許一輩子都會回想該試一試」，就是這個念頭，最後答應考慮參選北市長。
雖然有民進黨前後任黨主席的加持，但顧立雄說，家裡還有85歲的老母親這一關要過，怕母親知道後會暴跳如雷，因此早上看到電視跑馬燈說他要開記者會後，他趕緊溜出家門。
