基隆最高的麗榮皇冠大樓，石板掉落砸死老婦人，檢察官、市府人員前往勘查。發現石板與外牆之間，並未緊密貼合，而且石板上還掛了6面大型招牌，很可能是超重，導致掉落，但早在蘇力颱風期間，就有石板掉下來，管委會原訂週一要修復，沒想到前一天就發生不幸。

（軍聞社記者陳建興臺北十四日電）「捐血一袋、救人一命」並非口號。陸軍裝甲五八四旅日前接獲醫院通知，一名婦人生產發生血崩急需輸血，單位官兵得知後，立即召集卅多位符合捐血條件的官兵趕往醫院，急救危難產婦，以實際行動落實「愛民」義舉，獲得各界的嘉許。
