【大紀元2013年10月18日訊】（大紀元記者高雲林多倫多編譯報導）抵押貸款經紀、房地產經紀和開發商都發現，過去幾個月，大量在兩三年前購買了樓花的買家急於獲得資金完成交易。
據《多倫多星報》報導，對多倫多公寓行業業界人士的訪問發現，由於貸款方不再熱衷於提供資金，有些人不得不動用數萬元的存款，有人被迫向家人借錢或以自住房（principal residence）抵押，以籌集公寓的最後付款。
受打擊最重的是在購買預建公寓時已獲得貸款預審批准書（pre-approval）的自僱人士，現在隨著公寓將完工及最後付款到期，他們被告知需要支付高至房款35%至50%的首付款，而不是物業價格的20%，除非他們想依靠次級貸款，但該種貸款的利率可達到兩位數。
