　　筆者認為日本人可能是全世界最喜歡軍艦的民族。日本在早期沒有空軍的概念，僅設有日本陸軍和海軍，航空武力則是以航空隊概念編制於陸海軍中。而發動越洋戰爭時，海軍正是前線關鍵。大和民族對軍艦應是情有獨鍾，觀察相關動漫或電玩領域，以軍艦或戰艦為主題的作品也多不勝數，例如《宇宙戰艦大和號》、《沈默的艦隊》、《機動戰艦撫子號》、《玻璃艦隊》等。即便只是以武器身分登場，也有《銀河英雄傳說》、《星界的紋章》等作品。
